FAQs

The Answers You’ve Been Looking For

Fees

Fee structure is determined by the type of service provided, and all enquiries can be directed to our friendly reception team. All session fees must be paid on the day of your appointment by credit card, debit card or cash unless by prior arrangement. Darling St Practice does not offer bulk billing.

Private Health Insurance

Private Health insurers provide varied levels of cover for allied health services, and you will need to contact your insurer to find out how much you may get back and what your budget for allied health services may be. If your service is covered by private insurer your invoice will still need to be paid in full on the day of your appointment.

Cancellation policy

Darling St Practice practitioners are committed to supporting your wellbeing and working with you to achieve your goals. Changes in plan are understood, and in the interests of offering timely appointments a minimum notice period of 24 hours is required. Where cancellation is made within 24hours, a $35 fee will apply, and unattended appointments without cancellation will incur the full session fee. Cancellation fees must be paid prior to booking your next appointment.

If you arrive late for an appointment, your session time will end at the appointed time, and you will be charged the full session fee.

Appointment Confirmations

Darling St Practice sends text message reminders 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time, and you are required to confirm the appointment by text. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment please do not respond via text, instead please call 67622 366 or email admin@darlingstpractice.com.au.

For referrers:

In addition to self-referral, Darling St Practice accepts referrals from:

  • General Practitioners under the GP Mental Health Care Scheme,

  • Employee Assistance Program

  • Victims Services

Telehealth

Darling St Practice offers sessions via video conferencing or via telephone, with a few different billing options (1) with a Medicare rebate for anyone with a valid GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan (2) full fee (3) private health fund.

Medicare rebates for telehealth

Clients with a valid GP Mental Health Care Plan can access telehealth Services (video conferencing or telephone sessions) with a Medicare Rebate for psychology sessions.

Video conferencing platform

Darling St Practice uses the Halaxy Telehealth platform for video conference sessions, which allows you to access the session via a weblink rather than downloading an app or creating a user account. To access this platform Darling St Practice will email you a meeting invitation link prior to your session start time, which will allow you direct access as a guest.

Video conferencing - important things to consider

·       Please ensure your phone, earphones and laptop are charged.
·       Please check the quality of your internet connection prior to your appointment.
·       If there are connectivity issues your therapist will contact you via phone to continue the appointment, so please have this with you for the duration of the appointment
·       Setting yourself up in a private room to both minimise disruptions and distractions is a good idea.
·       Clients share responsibility for protecting their own privacy both online and with regards to session location and use of earphones to promote privacy.

Telephone sessions

For those with privacy or internet connection issues there is also the option of having your session by telephone. When booking you will be given the option to select either a video conferencing session or a telephone session
